Rs 25 Cr J-Tax in the ‘RRR’ movie in AP: Raguram Raju
Rs 25 Cr J-Tax in the ‘RRR’ movie in AP (Raguram Rajan). Narsapuram MP Raghu Ramakrishna Raju alleged that the YCP government unofficially placed J-Tax (Jagan) on Friday’s ‘RRR’ movie release. Rebel MP YCP responded to CM Jagan’s speech on alcohol policy and the capital city at the AP Assembly on Thursday.
But the RRR press meeting was diverted to the movie ‘RRR’. Speaking, he said: “I heard that J-Tax worth Rs 25 crore was placed on the movie ‘RRR’ and all the big politicians in AP reportedly bought the tickets at extravagant prices. The people who can afford these expensive tickets will see it on the first day, while the rest, I mean, the common man will see it when ticket prices drop,” RRR said.
By sharing a meme that was posted on social media, RRR mocked Jagan sarkar who worried the film industry by lowering ticket prices and defended his standard that his government’s main motto is to provide entertainment at affordable prices.
“As Jagan Mohan Reddy says, the rest of the YCP leaders do ‘Bhajana’ and Minister Perni Nani will be the first on this list. Aren’t people seeing what you (the YCP government) have said in the past and how come ticket prices go up at the request of filmmakers? Why should filmmakers show the cost of production to a ap state government? How lucky is it that the government decides ticket prices after examining the cost of producing a movie? RRR questioned.
This isn’t the first time J-Tax has made headlines. Previously many TDP leaders accused YCP of collecting J-Tax statewide while YCP spokesman Vijayasai Reddy controls Vizag with VJ-Tax. But the YCP never responded to this so-called political tax mafia in AP.
