Parliament session: Suspension of 92 deputies in both houses of Parliament

They have been suspended until the end of this winter session. MPs K. Jayakumar, Vijay Vasanth and Abdul Khaleeq raised slogans at the speaker’s podium. The Privileges Committee will give a report on their conduct. The spokesperson said they are suspended until the report arrives. The Lok Sabha passed a resolution moved by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi to suspend members who disobeyed the Speaker’s orders.

On the other hand, similar scenes were seen in Rajya Sabha. As a result, 45 opposition members were suspended. Opposition leaders of various parties, including Congress MPs Jairam Ramesh, Randeep Surjewala and KC Venugopal, were attacked. President Jagdeep Dhankar revealed that 34 of them have been suspended till the end of this winter meeting. TMC MP Derek O’Brien has already been suspended from Rajya Sabha till the end of this winter session. With today’s suspensions, more than 90 opposition MPs have been suspended so far this winter session.
