Does Lok Sabha Polling Opinion Poll Give BJP Good News?
What will be the outcome of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections? Which match would win? Will the Bharatiya Janata Party have a hot run like the previous two polls or will the big Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) see an advantage? These are the questions that people who follow politics now have.
Given the comfortable position that the BJP enjoys, the saffron party would emerge victorious in the Lok Sabha elections that are scheduled in two years’ time. However, the criticism faced by the BJP and the opposition parties that banded together to gain strength hinted that the BJP would face a major shock.
In the midst of this, an opinion poll by news outlet Times Now on the upcoming Lok Sabha elections says that BJP would record a hat-trick of Lok Sabha poll victories and win most seats. According to the Times Now P-MARQ opinion poll, the BJP would win between 292 and 312 seats.
Speaking of the main opposition Congress and the UPA, the alliance would win 118-138. If we compare the expected seats, the BJP would win the polls with more than double the margin. The opinion poll also predicted that the possible third front would have no impact.
On the other hand, the leaders who could be Narendra Modi’s potential opponents in the upcoming polls are lagging behind according to the opinion poll. This is good news for the BJP and party leaders that the saffron party would have the upper hand.
It is worth mentioning here that in the 2018 polls, the party emerged victorious in the polls despite criticism on various issues. However, the criticism has become intense now and the mismanagement of Covid has brought a bad name for the BJP not only in India but globally.
Although the BJP is likely to come to power in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections which are scheduled for 2024 according to the opinion poll, we cannot make a conclusion on the outcome. There are many cases where opinion polls failed. For example, some polls predicted that the Telugu Desam Party would win the 2019 general election. But the election result surprised everyone.
