Amaravati: High Court Says No to Amaravati Farmer’s Petitions!
Amaravati: Amaravati farmers protesting for a single capital in Andhra Pradesh have been hit hard by the state High Court orders. Hoping that the court would grant their request, the farmers moved the court. But the High Court gave them quite a scare.
The High Court is known to have previously imposed a cap on the limit of people who can participate in the yatra. Hearing a petition, the High Court said that only 600 people should participate and also ordered the Police department to issue them with identification cards so that they can participate in the yatra.
Claiming that the state government strives to create trouble for the yatra despite the fact that the court gave permission for the yatra, the farmers knocked on the doors of the High Court seeing the ease of the restrictions. However, the court said no to the petition.
Having said that, the High Court dismissed the petitions filed by the Amaravati farmers. The court said that the orders issued earlier in the yatra will be effective and ordered the farmers to follow the same.
Making it clear that only 600 farmers should take part in the yatra, the High Court said that no one but farmers should be seen in the yatra and politicians should not take part.
Amaravati farmers earlier faced many problems while doing padayatra for their demand. After facing many obstacles, including police restrictions and alleged issues raised by ruling party leaders, the farmers moved to the High Court. The court allowed only 600 Amaravati farmers and the same will be effective, the Court said now.
